Shiho Amano
Shiho Amano's work is classical in its approach. The focus is on craft, composition and visual authenticity. It is decorative by design. The subject matter is traditional, most often the female figure. However, Shiho's interpretation is distinctive, using the figure's gestures and movements to express the unspoken.
Shiho Amano was born and raised in Kamakura, Japan. Moving to Los Angeles as a teenager and graduating from Otis Parsons was an experience that has had a lasting influence Shiho's life. Shiho has traveled extensively, living and working in both Florence and Paris. Currently Shiho resides in New York.
Shiho has participated in select exhibitions, and has completed numerous commissions and installations for individuals and businesses. Currently, Shiho thrives on the process of a commission and the challenge of fitting work to the venue.
